The Teacher Mini-Grants Program, established in 1997 by local educators, aims to offer financial assistance ranging from $50 to $300 to teachers seeking to enhance classroom learning. Eligible only for Spencer-Owen School Corporation teachers, these grants are designed to support a variety of educational activities. These activities may include purchasing materials or curricula for classroom projects, organizing assemblies, speakers, or curriculum-related student field trips, and initiating new or expanded projects that contribute to memorable learning experiences. Furthermore, the program encourages projects that support classroom learning objectives in any subject area and fosters collaborative efforts between classrooms. Grants are awarded on a first-come-first-served basis, and teachers have the option to combine grants for larger projects.
