    The Paralyzed Veterans of America Education Foundation aims to share knowledge on spinal cord injury and disease (SCI/D) to improve the lives of those affected by SCI/D. Through coordination of workshops, production of educational materials, and sponsorship of fellowships, the foundation develops tools for sharing SCI/D knowledge, enhancing health, independence, and quality of life for individuals with these conditions.

    The grant program focuses on funding educational projects that serve individuals with spinal cord injury/disease (SCI/D), their families, and caregivers. Specifically, it supports projects in four main categories: Consumer and community education for improving health, independence, and quality of life; Professional development and education for enhancing the competencies of health professionals serving the SCI/D community; Research translation to move research findings into practical applications; and Conferences and symposia that offer educational and collaboration opportunities. The program's goals include improving the quality of life for individuals with SCI/D, educating on the consequences and complications associated with SCI/D, enhancing the knowledge and skills of healthcare professionals in this field, and preventing new occurrences and complications related to SCI/D.
