The Solar Energy Program aims to foster the adoption and expansion of solar energy solutions in Pennsylvania by offering financial support through grants and loans. The program specifically focuses on activities that encourage the generation and utilization of solar energy, alongside the manufacture or assembly of solar equipment. Financial incentives include grants up to $5,000 for each new job created by component manufacturers of solar generation equipment over three years post-loan approval. For solar energy generation or distribution projects, grants may reach up to $1 million or $1.50 per watt, subject to the lower of the two. Additionally, recipients of grants for Solar PV projects are required to transfer the ownership of the Solar Renewable Energy Credits (SRECs) generated by their systems to the CFA for the project's lifetime.
