The PhRMA Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports biopharmaceutical innovation and value-driven health care. It aims to catalyze the careers of promising researchers by providing competitive, peer-reviewed grants and fellowships in drug delivery, drug discovery, translational medicine, and value assessment and health outcomes research. Its vision is a healthier world where all have access to life-changing medicines, emphasizing integrity, innovation, and collaboration in its efforts.
The PhRMA Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship in Drug Delivery aims to support researchers (both U.S. and non-U.S. citizens) who are part of a multidisciplinary, collaborative training program at a U.S. university, enhancing their expertise in drug delivery research. Research areas of focus include pharmaceutics, biopharmaceutics, pharmaceutical technology, pharmaceutical biotechnology, and biomedical engineering. The program stresses a quantitative understanding of drug delivery systems, aiming to improve drug transport, targeting, stability, cost reduction, and efficacy. It supports advances in drug dosage forms, including biologics, small molecules, and cell and gene therapies. Funding is awarded based on the recipient's continuous employment in their postdoctoral program, with awards provided as stipends through direct payments to universities.
