The PhRMA Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports biopharmaceutical innovation and value-driven health care. It aims to catalyze the careers of promising researchers by providing competitive, peer-reviewed grants and fellowships in drug delivery, drug discovery, translational medicine, and value assessment and health outcomes research. Its vision is a healthier world where all have access to life-changing medicines, emphasizing integrity, innovation, and collaboration in its efforts.
The Drug Discovery Postdoctoral Fellowship by the PhRMA Foundation is designed to support postdoctoral researchers (both U.S. and non-U.S. citizens) involved in multidisciplinary, collaborative training programs at accredited U.S. universities to enhance their research credentials in drug discovery. This program aims to fund early-stage, exploratory drug discovery research that shows potential for human translation. This includes research in a variety of biological and pharmacological areas, with the objective of developing efficacious, safe, and differentiated treatments. It emphasizes the integration of scientific disciplines to discover new drug targets, pathways, or disease mechanisms, excluding projects focused solely on single-target assays, chemical library screening, or diagnostics. The fellowship provides stipend funding contingent on the recipient's continued postdoctoral program affiliation, with payments made directly to the university for administration.
