The PhRMA Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports biopharmaceutical innovation and value-driven health care. It aims to catalyze the careers of promising researchers by providing competitive, peer-reviewed grants and fellowships in drug delivery, drug discovery, translational medicine, and value assessment and health outcomes research. Its vision is a healthier world where all have access to life-changing medicines, emphasizing integrity, innovation, and collaboration in its efforts.
The PhRMA Foundation Predoctoral Fellowship in Drug Discovery Targets and Pathways aims to support promising students in the advanced stages of their training and thesis research related to drug discovery. The grant focuses on funding early-stage, exploratory research that has the potential for human translation, covering areas such as cellular and molecular biology, pharmacology, biochemistry, molecular modelling, and more. Projects should demonstrate innovative approaches to drug discovery, excluding those solely focused on single target identification or diagnostics. Funding, set at a yearly stipend of $30,000 with up to $1,000 for research-associated incidentals, is contingent on the awardee’s continuous enrollment at their university, ensuring direct benefit to their educational and research pursuits.
