The PhRMA Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports biopharmaceutical innovation and value-driven health care. It aims to catalyze the careers of promising researchers by providing competitive, peer-reviewed grants and fellowships in drug delivery, drug discovery, translational medicine, and value assessment and health outcomes research. Its vision is a healthier world where all have access to life-changing medicines, emphasizing integrity, innovation, and collaboration in its efforts.
The PhRMA Foundation’s Translational Medicine Postdoctoral Fellowship aims to support U.S. and non-U.S. citizens engaged in collaborative, multidisciplinary research training at an accredited U.S. university, enhancing their expertise in translational medicine. This program emphasizes a "bedside to bench" approach, targeting unmet clinical needs through novel diagnostics, experimental and computational strategies, and leveraging innovative technologies integrated with advanced biological, chemical, diagnostic, and pharmacological sciences. Research areas of interest include genetics, genomics, systems biology, integrative biology, modeling, target validation, biomarker identification, molecular epidemiology, imaging, and disease modeling. The fellowship provides a $60,000 stipend per year for durations of 12, 18, or 24 months, with payments made quarterly directly to the university, underlining that funds are strictly for stipend purposes and contingent upon the awardee's active engagement in their postdoctoral program.
