The PhRMA Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports biopharmaceutical innovation and value-driven health care. It aims to catalyze the careers of promising researchers by providing competitive, peer-reviewed grants and fellowships in drug delivery, drug discovery, translational medicine, and value assessment and health outcomes research. Its vision is a healthier world where all have access to life-changing medicines, emphasizing integrity, innovation, and collaboration in its efforts.
The PhRMA Foundation’s Predoctoral Fellowship in Value Assessment-Health Outcomes Research (VA-HOR) supports students of any nationality during their advanced training and thesis research in value assessment and health outcomes. It seeks research proposals that explore the evaluation of medicine delivery, use safety, effectiveness, and value, including but not limited to real-world and clinical outcomes, patient-reported outcomes, health equity, and innovative methods for value measurement. The fellowship offers $30,000 per year for up to 24 months, primarily as stipend support, with a portion available for research-related incidentals or travel to scientific conferences in the U.S. Funding continuity is subject to awardees’ university enrollment, and concurrent funding is restricted unless it supplements the award to match the university’s standard predoctoral fellowships.
