The mission of the PHS Commissioned Officers Foundation for the Advancement of Public Health is to support community-based public health programs, inspired by the dedicated service and contributions of Captain Martha Barclay-Giel to advancing American health.
The grant program aims to support initiatives across all areas of public health, particularly focusing on the Surgeon General’s Priorities such as Health Misinformation, Health Worker Burnout, Social Connection, Youth Mental Health, and Workplace Well-Being. It seeks projects with a strong disease and/or injury prevention component that promotes wellness, early detection, and early interventions to improve community health outcomes.
