The mission of the PSF (Plastic Surgery Foundation) is to support research and development in the field of plastic surgery, with a focus on funding innovative projects that can quickly transition from discovery through FDA approval into clinical testing. This research aims at improving commercial development, benefiting patients, and addressing unmet clinical needs with the end goal of enhancing the field's overall body of knowledge and patient care capabilities.
The Combined Pilot Research Grants program, supported by multiple subspecialty organizations including the PSF, AAHS, AAPPS, AAPS, ACAPS, ASMS, ASPN, ASRM, CSPS, and PSRC, aims to promote innovative research in various areas such as hand surgery, academic plastic surgery, peripheral nerve research, and microsurgery. The program's primary goal is to fund pilot research studies that pave the way for larger research projects by increasing the availability of research dollars. Specifically targeting the preliminary or pilot phase of research projects, this grant program offers up to $10,000 for 1-year pilot projects, thereby enabling investigators to build a solid foundation for seeking further funding from larger agencies.
