POISE Foundation’s mission is to assist the Black community in achieving self-sustaining practices, through strategic leadership, collective giving, grantmaking, and advocacy.
The Urban Youth Action Grant program aims to continue the legacy of Urban Youth Action, a youth support initiative founded in 1966 that provided developmental and social growth opportunities to Black inner-city youth in Pittsburgh. This grant supports organizations that offer consistent programming or services in youth education and enrichment, primarily targeting Black middle or high school students. The funding can be used for general operations, program, or project support, with grants up to $10,000 per applicant, based on fund availability. However, it's specified that annual grants are not guaranteed.
