Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council aims to support and advance the arts across the region by providing funding and guidance for a wide range of arts and cultural activities. They facilitate access to arts experiences and educational opportunities, aiming to enrich the cultural landscape of their community.
The Arts and Cultural Heritage Grant by the Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council is designed to fund a wide array of arts activities. Drawing from the Legacy Amendment's resources, eligible activities include but are not limited to art and music festivals, community choirs, dance performances, literary readings, and visual art classes. The grant aims to support arts programming that enhances an organization's artistic offerings, including public art projects and initiatives that aim to engage new audiences, such as different ethnic groups, youth, and senior citizens. The program does not require a specific cash match from applicants. Priority is given to projects that align with one or more of Minnesota Arts Legacy's '5 Main Goals,' such as supporting high-quality arts activities, increasing access to the arts, integrating arts into public life, offering arts education, and promoting diverse cultural arts traditions. Funds may be used for Arts programming that is in-person or virtual. Expenses may include artist fees, artist travel, salaries, equipment, technology, training, promotion, monthly rent (lease payments) and utilities.
