Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council aims to support and advance the arts across the region by providing funding and guidance for a wide range of arts and cultural activities. They facilitate access to arts experiences and educational opportunities, aiming to enrich the cultural landscape of their community.
The Arts and Cultural Heritage Grant, financed by the Legacy Amendment, supports a diverse spectrum of arts-related activities. It caters to different sectors including but not limited to art and music festivals, dance, literature, media arts, music concerts, theater productions, and visual arts classes and exhibitions. Funding proposals may cover ongoing arts programming, sponsorship of arts activities, introduction of innovative and varied projects, and enhancement of organizational artistic capabilities through equipment acquisition. Public arts like sculptures and murals, endeavors to engage new audiences (youth, ethnic groups, senior citizen groups, etc.), and aims to involve the public in novel ways are also eligible. Specific to the ACH Education Grant, up to $6,000 can be requested to support arts education through artist residencies, live performances, workshops, and arts-related field trips intended to augment school arts curricula, foster professional development in arts education, and encourage collaborations with regional arts entities.
