The Oil Spill Recovery Institute (OSRI) in Cordova, Alaska, is dedicated to improving the understanding of Arctic and sub-Arctic marine and estuarine ecosystems and supporting oil spill response and recovery by managing funds for research, education, and programs.
The OSRI Graduate Research Fellowship (GRF) Program annually awards graduate fellowships to support the education and research of students pursuing masters or doctoral degrees related to oil spill science in Arctic and sub-Arctic regions. Fellowships are competitive and open to students admitted to or enrolled in full-time programs at accredited institutions. OSRI funds projects that will 1) enhance scientific understanding of Arctic and sub-Arctic marine and estuarine ecosystems, 2) develop new tools for oil spill response, and 3) provide the information needed by managers and decision-makers for oil spill response and recovery.
