Senior Fellowship Programme

The RGHI Senior Fellowship Programme is designed to energize new research and translate findings into practical improvements in hygiene practices worldwide, covering a broad range of disciplines including basic research, clinical studies, epidemiology, behavioral science, sociology, health economics, and engineering. Specifically targeting mid-career researchers, the program provides funding for significant research or translational projects, offering training for professional development, supporting academic progression toward long-term goals, and fostering an environment conducive to international collaboration among diverse researchers. The fellowship, which is open to university or academic institution researchers, allocates funding to cover 50% of the recipient's time over a three-year period, aiming at an ambitious research and professional development program. Applicants must be employed by or have an offer from a university or academic institution for the fellowship duration and are encouraged to use the RGHI definitions of hygiene and health as a lens for their research proposals. The program’s areas of interest are broadly defined yet include specific themes such as planetary health, One Health (e.g., zoonosis, AMR), gender equity, social inclusion, and hygiene behaviors beyond hand hygiene.
