Through funding research, the Foundation aims to lead to a future with more options for patients to live longer, healthier lives. It also funds training and mentorship for medical students and fellows to expand the workforce of specially trained rheumatology professionals.

    The Innovative Research Award by the Rheumatology Research Foundation focuses on supporting innovative research ideas to understand rheumatic diseases better, aiming at discovering new treatments and potentially finding a cure. The award targets independent academic investigators, providing them with the funding needed to pursue groundbreaking ideas that could lead to significant advancements in the cause, progression, treatment, and outcomes of rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases. The grant offers up to $200,000 per year for a maximum of $400,000 over two years. Applicants must be members of the ACR or ARP at the time of submission and for the duration of the award.
