The Project and Capacity-Building Grants from Equity Action, with funding requests ranging from $2,500 to $10,000, aim to support projects and organizational development efforts that specifically meet the needs of the LGBTQ communities in Rhode Island. These grants are awarded annually to fund initiatives such as board development, strategic planning, program development, nonprofit business development, fundraising, program evaluation, and other capacity-building activities for organizations serving the LGBTQ community. Each organization is eligible for one award per year, with supported efforts including increasing advocacy capacity on policy issues affecting the LGBTQ community, developing skills for effective partnerships, and providing community education.
