    Type of Support

    Overview

The RSAA Travel Awards are designed to support practical projects and research with the potential to advance scholarly or public knowledge about Asia. These awards cater to activities including post-graduate degrees, journalism, and travel writing. They strictly support individual travel and are not appropriated for commercial use or to fund participation in programs by other organizations. The grant program places a particular emphasis on contemporary Asia and its recent history. For the current round, priority is given to projects relating to the cultural, political, and economic legacies of colonialism and imperialism in Asia; exploration of Asian countries, regions, or peoples post-1900; and studies on the advancements of technology and its applications in communication, surveillance, and infrastructure within contemporary Asia.
