    Type of Support

    Overview

The Tri-Counties Blood Bank Fund, under the stewardship of these foundations, aims to distribute income generated from a nearly $5 million fund to qualified nonprofits. The grant program is structured around supporting blood and blood-related products and services through three types of support: Indigent Care Grants, Education Grants, and Scholarships. Each category has a specific focus—Indigent Care Grants aim to reimburse hospitals for the costs associated with providing blood or blood products to qualified patients; Education Grants are allocated for advanced education in medical technology or nursing related to blood banking, physician education on transfusion medicine techniques, and community education on blood and blood diseases.
