Seeding Justice builds collective power by transforming philanthropy and funding movements, aiming for the pursuit of justice and liberation for all communities. It envisions a world of imagination, joy, and abundance where everyone has enough, and no one has too much. The organization funds grassroots movements working to dismantle injustices and supports organizations at the forefront of social, racial, gender, disability, economic, and environmental justice. Seeding Justice commits to transforming philanthropy into a practice that is justice-driven, regenerative, and centers the wisdom and agency of communities most impacted by injustice.
The Responsive Grants Program by Seeding Justice offers grants of no more than $1,500 to organizations facing unexpected travel-related expenses. These small grants aim to assist with costs associated with sudden opportunities or challenges, such as conference attendance, technology acquisition, or leadership transitions. Supported activities include unexpected registration fees and travel expenses for conferences, meetings, or events that offer unique networking, learning, and growth opportunities. Applicants for the Rapid Response grants must demonstrate a commitment to building power among everyday people through strategies like community organizing and collective action. They should also have practices in place against various forms of oppression, adopt an intersectional approach to address root causes, be led by the people most impacted by the issues at hand, and actively fight against systemic oppression, violence, and injustice.
