United Airlines established a Fund within the Siouxland Community Foundation in appreciation of Siouxland’s response to the United Flight 232 incident in July of 1989. The fund aims to provide financial support for education and community projects in the Siouxland area.
The ICF grant program is designed to meet current and future needs in Ireton by providing grants in several key areas, including Arts & Culture (enhancement of access to arts, music, and historical events), Civic (community improvement and beautification, support for city government and emergency services, parks, and recreation), Education (supporting early childhood development, primary, secondary, and continuing education, and libraries), Environment (pollution control, conservation of natural resources, wildlife protection, and botanical/horticultural activities), Health (promotion of physical, dental, and mental health, rehabilitative services, crisis intervention), and Human Services (support for housing, public safety, services for the elderly, youth, families, the handicapped, economically disadvantaged, minorities, or other special groups).
