The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) helps Americans start, grow, and build resilient businesses.
The State Trade Expansion Program (STEP) is designed to support the growth of exports from eligible small business concerns (ESBCs). It has three primary goals: increasing the number of U.S. small businesses that export, boosting the dollar value of U.S. exports, and expanding the number of U.S. small businesses engaging in significant new trade opportunities. Through grants to states and equivalent entities, STEP aims to develop export initiatives that help small businesses enter and expand into international markets.
