The Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) Foundation aims to enhance the well-being of employees and the performance of organizations through the science and application of Industrial/Organizational Psychology.
The Wiley Award for Excellence in Survey Research, sponsored by the SIOP Foundation, is aimed at acknowledging and encouraging exceptional design in survey research methods or techniques that bolster organizational effectiveness and performance. This accolade is focused on innovative and exemplary approaches in employee or customer survey research methods or the application of survey results to drive improvements in organizational effectiveness. Key areas of innovation may include the purposes of the survey research, the design of the survey instrument, the populations or samples surveyed, methods of survey administration, the reporting of results, and the utilization of survey findings to foster positive organizational changes. Awarded annually in honor of Jack Wiley, this recognition is given to a SIOP member or a team (including at least one SIOP member) whose contributions significantly advance the field of survey research. Winners are awarded a plaque and a $3,000 cash prize, which is divided in cases of multiple recipients. Nominations are judged based on their scientific and technical merit, innovation, contribution to survey research understanding, documented impact on organizational performance, contribution to organizational development insights, and enhancement of Industrial-Organizational Psychology's acceptance in workplaces.
