The scholarship aims to honor the contributions of Elizabeth K. Weisburger in cancer biology and toxicology, and Vera W. Hudson in developing the NLM Hazardous Substance Database, acknowledging their roles as pioneers and role models in their fields. It supports a Society of Toxicology (SOT) graduate student member, who is pursuing a full-time PhD in toxicology, showing outstanding academic achievement, and demonstrating leadership and service. The recipient is awarded a plaque and a monetary prize, which can be used towards tuition, research-related expenses, and travel. This scholarship encourages the continuation of impactful research in toxicology while promoting leadership among women scientists in the field.
