The mission of SCF, in partnership with Rise Together Bay Area, is to raise the economic level of families by improving education outcomes and employment opportunities, thus building stronger communities.
The Education Plus! Grant Program focuses on enhancing education to boost the economic status of families and communities. It supports community nonprofit organizations and public school teachers in grades K-12, emphasizing projects that (1) improve reading literacy at the 3rd grade level and (2) prepare students for appropriate 9th-grade math placements. Projects that add a “Plus!” factor in learning, such as enhancing classroom or library initiatives, after-school tutoring, mentoring, and other educational activities that positively impact life quality, are prioritized. Applicants are encouraged to highlight the unique "Plus!" factor their project brings to students.
