    Overview

The Healthy Youth and Healthy Seniors Fund by the Sturgis Area Community Foundation (SACF) focuses on supporting programs that encourage healthy lifestyle choices and activities for both youth and seniors in St. Joseph County. This initiative was established with an award from the State of Michigan Tobacco Settlement Partnership, targeting improvements in the health of individuals from birth to 18 and those age 55 and older. Grant awards are directed towards programs in health and nutrition, family counseling, early childhood development, smoking prevention and cessation, daycare, preschool, after-school care, and various senior-related health initiatives like access to pharmaceuticals, chronic disease management, long-term care alternatives, mental health, and workforce participation challenges.
