The Mission of the Synod of the Mid-Atlantic is to engage in the ministry of Jesus Christ and the mission of the Presbyterian Church (USA) as described in the Great Ends of the Church by providing information, encouragement, and support in caring for its member presbyteries, congregations, and members.
The Thanksgiving Offering Fund, initiated in 2001 by the Synod of the Mid Atlantic, supports child and youth care agencies through funds collected by Barium Springs (North Carolina Presbyteries) and Presbyterian Homes and Family Services (Virginia and Northern Presbyteries). The funds are allocated based on specific designations and an agreed-upon formula for undesignated funds, reflecting the synod's dedication to supporting the welfare of children and youth.
