The Jeffress Trust Awards Program in Research Advancing Health Equity focuses on research that addresses root causes and systemic barriers to health equity in Virginia. The program has shifted to prioritize funding towards research activities in Policy, Systems, and Environmental change strategies, Program/Practice Analysis, and General Research to help residents achieve optimal health. The program offers two main award mechanisms: Partnership/Collaborative Establishment Awards, which provide two-year $150,000 awards for the development of collaborative research activities, and Research Awards, offering three-year $600,000 awards to support established collaborative research consortiums advancing health equity.
