The Black Hills Energy Power of Trees grant program aims to fund tree planting projects that not only beautify communities and enhance the environment but also focus on energy efficiency. Offered to Iowa communities served by Black Hills Energy, the grants support the planting of trees on both public and private property, provided the projects contribute to energy efficiency. Examples include trees planted in public rights of way and near schools and public buildings. Black Hills Energy offers up to $5,000 per community for these projects, with Trees Forever administering the program and offering guidance to ensure the success and longevity of the initiatives.
