The mission of the Energy Department is to ensure America’s security and prosperity by addressing its energy, environmental and nuclear challenges through transformative science and technology solutions
The Clean Energy to Communities (C2C) program is designed to help communities meet their clean energy objectives. It provides in-depth partnerships, facilitates peer-learning cohorts, and matches communities with experts. These resources support communities in advancing local clean energy goals through a focus on exchanging strategies, best practices, and overcoming common challenges. The program emphasizes collaborative learning, peer engagement, and the development of proposals and action plans for accelerated clean energy progress. Managed by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) and supported by the World Resources Institute, this initiative is funded by the U.S. Department of Energy. It specifically aims to convene communities over a six-month period to engage in learning and collaborative efforts around clean energy transition topics, providing tools such as education, case studies, analysis and modeling tools, trainings, and facilitated collaboration to support these endeavors.
