The Democracy Commission Small Grants Program by the U.S. Embassy in Ashgabat aims to enhance the democratic institutions and civil society of Turkmenistan. It supports this goal by providing competitive funding to local for-profit economic societies, nonprofit NGOs and associations, and other nonprofit civil society organizations. This funding is aimed at proposals that align with the U.S. Embassy Public Diplomacy Section’s priority areas, focusing on empowering Turkmenistan’s civil society to contribute actively to the nation’s democratic development. Applicants are encouraged to develop proposals that are in harmony with the guiding goals, priority areas, and target audiences as determined by the Public Diplomacy Section.
