The mission of EPA is to protect human health and the environment - today and every day.
This grant program offers up to $300 million in competitive grants specifically for tribes and territories. Its goal is to support the implementation of greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction measures as outlined in a Pollution Control Action Plan (PCAP) developed under a Comprehensive Pollution Reduction Grant (CPRG) planning grant. These GHG reduction measures can encompass a wide range of programs, policies, projects, and measures aimed at mitigating the effects of climate change. The competition is exclusively for tribes and territories, requiring lead organizations to submit their PCAPs to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) by a specified deadline to be eligible for funding. The EPA expects to award between 25 to 100 grants, with amounts ranging from $1 million to $25 million each, under this tribes and territories competition.
