Overview
The grant program under the EPA's STAR initiative is focused on enhancing the resilience of coastal ecosystems. It supports research with the goals of:
Characterizing, quantifying, and defining resilience indicators or metrics for various types of coastal ecosystems, particularly those capable of climate mitigation and adaptation or possessing blue carbon sequestration potential.
Developing methods and approaches for the economic valuation of resilience benefits provided by coastal ecosystems.
