The mission of EPA is to protect human health and the environment - today and every day.
The Environmental Research Apprenticeship Program (ERAP) for College and University Students aims to enhance the effectiveness and number of future environmental scientists and technicians. It offers on-site training at the EPA research facility in Ada, Oklahoma, partnering trainees with senior EPA-ORD scientists. The program targets the training of the next generation of STEM scientists and engineers to support the EPA’s mission, focusing on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, managing chemical risks, and protecting and restoring the nation's land and water resources. Fields of interest for trainees include environmental science, water policy, chemistry, engineering, computer science, ecology, and physical and biological sciences.
