The mission of EPA is to protect human health and the environment - today and every day.
This grant program, announced by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), is focused on providing competitive funding for a two-year period to eligible entities. The purpose is to offer technical assistance (TA) to businesses, encouraging the development and implementation of source reduction practices, also known as pollution prevention or “P2”. Recipients are mandated to create at least one P2 case study and one P2 success story during the grant tenure. These efforts aim to showcase specific source reduction or P2 practices, detailing their implementation by businesses and the subsequent benefits. The overarching goal is to enable other P2 TA providers or businesses to learn from these experiences and replicate successful P2 practices, especially those that are novel and not widely adopted. This initiative is underpinned by the Pollution Prevention Act and receives funding from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.
