INL works to keep Americans safe by countering crime, illegal drugs, and instability abroad.
The grant aims to fortify independent media organizations and their personnel, along with supporting local entities advocating for independent media in Central America. The initiative seeks to empower these bodies to conduct in-depth investigations and deliver accurate, fact-based reporting on issues of crime and corruption. Through enhancing the media’s capacity to navigate the changing landscapes of information dissemination, the project will contribute to increasing transparency and accountability in the region by better informing the public and ensuring that those in positions of power are held responsible for their actions.
