Overview

The FY 2024 Arctic Indigenous Exchange Program (AIEP) is a new initiative targeting approximately 50 Indigenous leaders from Canada, the Kingdom of Denmark (Greenland), and the United States (Alaska). Participants will include business development professionals, government officials, and entrepreneurs. The program focuses on facilitating multi-phase exchanges to explore areas of regional cooperation across the Arctic. Its primary goal is to enhance people-to-people relationships, foster greater commercial and cultural ties, and advance cooperation among Arctic Indigenous populations in the participating countries. This initiative will support multiple exchange projects covering strategic issues like sustainable economic development, climate and environmental concerns, and health and well-being. The program, encompassing a range of activities from workshops to alumni events, is designed for both U.S. and foreign participants, reinforcing international collaboration and mutual understanding on critical Arctic issues.
