The English Access Scholarship Program aims to improve English language skills among bright, underserved students globally, primarily aged 13 to 20. The program, recognizing the strategic importance of English language proficiency to U.S. foreign policy objectives, supports over 200,000 student alumni and over 10,000 teacher alumni in more than 85 countries. It emphasizes student-centered learning and communicative approaches, integrating global citizenship themes, 21st-century skills, U.S. culture and values, and English language instruction. The program operates in various formats, including in-person, virtual, or hybrid, and encompasses professional development for teachers, serving as a model for English teaching worldwide.
