    Overview

The FY 2024 Global Sports Mentoring Program (GSMP) is designed to facilitate professional development and mentorship in sports, focusing on empowering women and people with disabilities. It engages U.S. and international participants in a reciprocal exchange to foster relationships between American sports executives and global sports leaders. The program operates on two tracks: the Sport for Community GSMP focuses on disability rights using global sports events like the Paralympic Games to enhance inclusion, while the espnW GSMP, in partnership with espnW, aims to empower women and girls in sports. Both tracks emphasize U.S. legislation like the ADA and Title IX as models for promoting democratic values and equality. The GSMP incorporates elements of sports philanthropy, marketing, and entrepreneurship to support action plan development and implementation.
