    Overview

    The Public Diplomacy Small Grants Program by the U.S. Embassy Baghdad Public Diplomacy Section supports projects that include an American cultural element or connection with American experts, organizations, or institutions in a specific field to promote increased understanding of U.S. policy and perspectives. The program funds a wide range of projects including academic and professional lectures, seminars, youth leadership programs, professional and academic exchanges, and projects focusing on entrepreneurship and innovation. Priority is given to projects that strengthen governance, democracy, and the rule of law; strengthen civil society and promote civic engagement; enhance professionalism in the media; combat disinformation; counter violent extremism; promote innovation and entrepreneurship; empower women, youth, or religious and ethnic minorities; foster U.S.-Iraqi cultural ties; and protect and preserve Iraqi cultural heritage.
