The Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM) is the humanitarian bureau of the State Department. PRM promotes U.S. interests by providing protection, easing suffering, and resolving the plight of persecuted and forcibly displaced people around the world.
The FY 2024 Notice of Funding Opportunity aims to support NGO programs in South Sudan responding to the ongoing emergency in Sudan. The grant prioritizes projects that offer support for emergency response operations for new arrivals at the South Sudan border, specifically at reception and transit centers and in official refugee sites. Key areas of focus include humanitarian protection and assistance, along with interim and durable solutions for those affected by the crisis. Proposals should align with one or more programmatic sectors such as health (covering areas such as primary health, sexual and reproductive health, maternal and child health, mental health and psychosocial support, and nutrition), protection (which may include legal support, child protection, gender-based violence (GBV) response, and efforts towards socio-cultural inclusion and social cohesion). Multi-sectoral proposals are encouraged to ensure a comprehensive response to the needs of refugees and refugee returnees in South Sudan.
