The Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) is one of six Program Offices within the Office of Justice Programs at the U.S. Department of Justice. Through OVC, the Fund supports a broad array of programs and services that focus on helping victims in the immediate aftermath of crime and continuing to support them as they rebuild their lives.
The OVC FY24 VOCA Victim Assistance Formula Grant Program aims to better the treatment of crime victims by offering necessary assistance, support, and services for their restoration and healing. It targets the improvement of state and territory crime victim assistance programs and provides funding to local community-based organizations and public agencies servicing crime victims. The program supports the use of funds for eligible crime victim assistance efforts, allows for a portion of the funds to be used for administrative and training purposes, and emphasizes the inclusion of American Indian and Alaska Native tribes in program planning and funding.
