NIJ is the research, development and evaluation agency of the U.S. Department of Justice. We are dedicated to improving knowledge and understanding of crime and justice issues through science.
The National Institute of Justice (NIJ) grant program aims to support research and demonstration projects that focus on improving methods for measuring community perceptions of policing and public safety. The goals include developing and testing innovative approaches to obtain accurate, cost-effective, and scalable representative samples across microgeographic areas. These approaches should also be applicable to municipalities of various sizes and capable of being implemented frequently.
