NIJ is the research, development and evaluation agency of the U.S. Department of Justice. We are dedicated to improving knowledge and understanding of crime and justice issues through science.
This grant aims to fund rigorous applied research focusing on the intersection of drugs and crime. It is designed to help develop evidence-based tools, practices, and policies for state, tribal, and local law enforcement and criminal justice agencies to address drug trafficking, drug markets, and drug-related violence efficiently. The overarching goals are to enhance the understanding of drug crime organizations and networks and to devise effective strategies for disrupting these entities, particularly through targeting associated money laundering, firearms, and human trafficking activities.
