NIJ is the research, development and evaluation agency of the U.S. Department of Justice. We are dedicated to improving knowledge and understanding of crime and justice issues through science.
This grant program focuses on supporting rigorous research and evaluation projects in the area of youth justice and delinquency prevention. It aims to inform policy and practice through studies that: 1) Evaluate the effectiveness, including cost-effectiveness, of youth justice system reforms and the subsequent reinvestments into community-based programs for youth; and 2) Evaluate the effectiveness of school and community-based prevention and intervention programs. These efforts are designed to advance knowledge and understanding in the field to support best practices and effective policy-making.
