    Overview

The Accelerating Federal Technology Transfer Program, run by NIST, aims to help promote, educate, and facilitate federal technology transfer by supporting activities in this area. It encourages collaboration between members of the Federal Laboratory Consortium's Executive Board, including NIST, and the award recipient in the development of outreach and educational programs, tools, and best practices. The goal is to enhance the ability of the academic and private sectors to engage with Federal laboratories for technology transfer and research commercialization. The program supports the development of tools and services for utilizing Federal intellectual property, the creation of education and training infrastructure in technology transfer, and the facilitation of access to federal R&D collaborations and technology transfer opportunities. For FY25, NIST plans to fund one award for up to $4,000,000 per year, for a project performance period of up to five years.
