The National Institutes of Health (NIH), a part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, is the nation’s medical research agency — making important discoveries that improve health and save lives.
The grant program aims to support multi-project research programs focused on the development, characterization, and advancement of gene- and cell-based approaches for the long-term remission or elimination of HIV. These approaches will be evaluated for their clinical feasibility, scalability, and deliverability. The program encourages applications that encompass both basic science discovery and preclinical research activities, including test-of-concept studies in animal models. Furthermore, applicants are mandated to include one or more private sector partners in their research program.
