    Type of Support

    Overview

The grant aims to support mechanistic and epidemiologic studies that investigate the roles of co-infection in cancer development. It focuses on enhancing understanding of how co-infections, involving two or more infectious agents including viruses, bacteria, parasites, and other microorganisms, contribute to carcinogenesis. This may help inform future prevention and treatment strategies for infection-related cancers. Special preference is given to research on co-infections with known oncogenic agents (excluding HIV) and studies that propose new avenues for prevention and treatment.
