    Overview

The Investigation of Co-occurring conditions across the Lifespan to Understand Down syndromE (INCLUDE) Project grant focuses on stimulating exploratory and innovative research aimed at developing, characterizing, or improving animal models and related biological materials specifically for Down syndrome (DS) research. The initiative seeks to enhance access to information concerning or derived from the use of these animal models in DS studies. The proposals encouraged by this grant should aim at creating resources that hold potential value in targeted or foundational scientific investigations relevant to Down syndrome. Additionally, the INCLUDE Project is especially interested in research projects that propose the development of diverse animal models, genetic resources, cellular or subcellular atlases, the application of advanced informatics technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) or machine learning (ML), and the integration of various animal models and technology platforms. These efforts are intended to significantly increase the rigor and reproducibility of preclinical research in Down syndrome.
