    The MSPP aims to cultivate a diverse group of combined-degree students, such as MD/PhD, DDS/PhD, DVM/PhD, by enabling them to conduct their PhD dissertation research at NIH Intramural Research Program labs. The program emphasizes rigorous training in various biomedical sciences to equip participants for leadership roles within biomedical careers. It focuses on imparting a comprehensive understanding of research study design, critical thinking, experimental methods, bioethics, and data analysis. Additionally, the program offers mentored research experiences along with substantial career and professional development, mentoring, and networking opportunities, thus preparing participants for successful careers in the biomedical research sector.
